Overview

Chinchilla Community Commerce and Industry Inc. is the local business network for the Western Downs. Its direction, membership and events had no single home online. Zelexis designed and built a website that brings them together in one place, structured so CCCI can keep it current itself.

The challenge

A moving organisation needs a website that keeps pace.

The starting point

CCCI connects businesses, members and the wider Chinchilla community. Its previous website was outdated, and publishing a change had become slow and effortful.

The brief called for more than a refreshed appearance: a central place to explain membership, show events and partnerships, share CCCI’s direction and help people find the right information. It also needed an update arrangement that worked around CCCI’s activity.

The earlier website
Outdated information, and changes that took too long.
What CCCI needed
One current home, kept up to date around its schedule.

CCCI’s calendar never stands still. Its website had to be able to keep pace with it.

Always something on

Every event, campaign and new member needs a current page.

Golf days, celebrations, networking, openings and community events. The website is where people find out what is next.

A change in emphasis

From an outdated page to a current front door.

The current opening states CCCI’s role in one sentence and offers two routes: become a member, or explore what is on.

The thinking

One organisation. Different reasons to visit.

The structure had to serve prospective members, existing members and community visitors, and the CCCI team keeping it all current.

Insight

Four needs, one website. Clear routes let them sit side by side.

From purpose to participation

The plan describes the purpose. The website gives it a route.

3.1Supplied identity, applied

A four-colour logo, made to work as a system.

The supplied logo already carried four colours. Orange leads the website; the other three support it, so every page feels like the same organisation.

3.2The front door

Lead with CCCI’s role. Then offer two routes.

The homepage says what CCCI is for in one sentence, then lets visitors become a member or explore what is on.

CCCI now has one place for its information and vision, with an update arrangement tailored to how it works.

Before

Changes were slow, and preparing them took more effort than suited a busy organisation.

Now

Rough information goes in. Prepared content is published around CCCI’s schedule.

Events, campaigns, sponsors and new members keep the website current, without CCCI preparing finished pages itself.
